Always nice to see them away from London. These two were floating in a channel of the harbour, to which it's connected by the large doors behind. The light was just fading so this was a stroke of luck, as they all are. Although these were seen over a month ago, there's been nothing since. I've missed chances though. London is getting darker every day, which doesn't make it easier to spot them. I hope for a change of fortunes soon...

Strathleven Road, 26th March 2009

A rare night shot, but it was hard to miss this cluster sat squatly in an alcove near my house on my way home, only on 26th by some 45 minutes. It was a windy spring night, but this spot was pretty sheltered and there was no hint of the usual frantic rush in snapping them. When I walked past again on my morning commute the entire cluster was on the other side of an adjacent hedge, although whether through wind action or human whim I'll never know.

Damn this is a bleak and colourless shot, and so bleak was the morning that even upping the saturation to ridiculous levels couldn't bring out the red in the red brick buildings. Well, not without making the rest of the shot look like a frame from some acid-tinged Beatles film. So bleak it must remain. I've tagged black, white and silver here, but for all the colour visible they could well have been shocking pink, lime green and Mimosa.

Apologies also for the blurred streaks in places. Freezing day, packed bus - always going to mist up the windows. Bah.
